Washington Apple Pi
Offers Legacy Apple /// DVD Set

(ROCKVILLE, MD.) It?s been a long time coming, but fans and collectors
of Apple?s first production computer, the Apple ///, now have access to
a two-set DVD that includes all ten chapters of Kennen Publishing?s ?How
To Use Your Apple /// In Ten Easy Lessons? and some great extras that
honor Apple and Apple /// vendor On Three.
?This is a project Washington Apple Pi has been working on for a
long time,? says Vice President, Publicity Dave Ottalini. WAP obtained
the rights to the Kennen training video after Apple discontinued the
computer in 1983. And while it was long available on video, this is the
first time it can be viewed by individual chapter on DVD.
Ottalini is a long-time expert on the /// and headed up the DVD
project. ?With my large library of original Apple /// material, it was a
no-brainer to make this more than just a DVD of the how-to video,? he
says.
The two-set DVD includes a video based on a December, 1988
interview with Apple and Macintosh veteran Andy Hertzfeld about the
famous Apple /// running horses display. There?s also a video using
comments from On Three?s Bob Consorti during the Phase /// Conference
and Exhibition in October 1987. A number of slideshows with historical
photographs and information about Washington Apple Pi, as well as
information about the still-available WAP /// public domain library,
Apple /// emulation and other files round out the offerings.
?This is a true collectors item that many Apple fans will want
in their library,? says Ottalini. He also notes that WAP is developing a
separate Apple /// CD with articles, photographs, content from the ///s
Company BBS and much, much more. A CD archiving all of On Three
Magazine is also planned.
The 2 DVD set costs $30.00 plus $3.50 postage and handling and
is available on-line at www.store.wap.org or can be ordered by calling
the WAP office at (301)-984-0300. Email: office at wap.org.
